State Representative Doug Beck was elected in November of 2016. He serves on the following committee of the House of Representatives: Economic Development, Ranking Minority Member, Children and Families, Special Committee on Employment Security, and Veterans.
Doug Beck also serves as a Director of the Affton School Board, a position he has held for 9 years including two years as President.
During his tenure, Beck worked to expand Early Childhood Education which culminated in the building of a new Early Childhood Center. He also worked to increase opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The Affton School Board has been recognized for its outstanding performance by the Missouri School Board Association and now ranks as one of the top districts in St. Louis County as measured by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Beck is an over 30 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562.
Doug Beck and his wife, Marilyn, have been married for 33 years and are the parents of two children with one grandchild and two more grandchildren on the way.
Doug was born and raised in St. Louis County, graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1983, and attended St. Louis Community College.
